Wedding Reception Venue in Cary NC

The Matthew's House in Cary, NC is a beautiful wedding reception venue. The venue is also one of the best wedding caterers in town. You dont have to book your wedding there to get the great food of Chef Richard, they will travel anywhere local. When considering a wedding hall keep this in mind about the Matthew's House. They can host both indoor and outdoor weddings. That in my opinion is a great plus. The reception hall is big and open with beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. I could go on and on about this site, but just know I LOVE IT!!!

Now onto Jill and Keith's wedding. Jill and I did everything over the phone and by email. So I was excited to meet them both on wedding day. Case in point, the ceremony was to take place outdoors however the weather did not want to cooperate that day so the decision was made to move it inside the reception hall. Greg with Brides and Bouquets was the florist. I also love, love his floral arrangements.

I was very happy to be the photographer for this wedding in NC and hope you enjoy the photographs. This was a very short intimate wedding.

Cardinal Club wedding| Raleigh NC| Meghan and Kevin

The Cardinal Club is located on the 28th floor in the Wachovia building in downtown Raleigh. All I can say is the next time I photograph a wedding there I will have to wear my sea bands, lol I got the motion sickness feeling from riding in the elevator so much. The day started off with me meeting the guys at their hotel at the Marriott downtown. The lobby made for a great place to take the groomsmen pictures, not to mention it was really hot and humid that day. After getting Kevin's family pictures/groomsmen done I headed over to the Cardinal club venue where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready.  Once Meghan was in her wedding dress we headed outside to get a few shots and whewwww was the wind blowing.

After all the formal pictures were done I headed to the ceremony room over looking the city where I met up with the preacher. He informed me I would not be allowed to use flash.  Huh? Are you serious? I get it and totally respect someone telling me not to use flash in a church but in a regular wedding venue I disagree. In the end I was very very happy with the ceremony photographs, I would have liked to fire the flash as the wedding party entered but its ok.

Meghan is a firecracker. I was suprised to see a totally different side of her on wedding day. She was outgoing, FUNNY, and the wind blowing constantly during her formal pictures did not upset her one bit, and I loved that about her!!!! Meghan also never left the dance floor and I mean never, she danced the night away. Kevin and Meghan thank you so much for letting me be apart of your special wedding in Raleigh,NC.

Raleigh wedding photography | NC wedding photographer

Its a pretty busy time for this NC wedding photographer in Raleigh. There is photographing the wedding, processing pictures, album designing, doing engagement and bridal sessions, blogging, and my 8yr old daughter is out of school for the summer so you can add full time mom into the mix. I wouldn't trade it for the world. The wedding photography of Claire and David's John's wedding took place at Hayes Barton Baptist Church. David John's father is the minister of the church so it was very cool to see the father of the groom perform the ceremony. Even though he was the son of the preacher it didn't change the fact that I the photographer had to stay in the balcony to shoot the wedding.

Both Claire and David went to Duke, so during the wedding reception at Sister's Catering in Raleigh NC, David had a suprise for his new wife.... The Blue Devil Mascot made a special appearance. It was awesome to watch and fun to photograph. Joe Bunn's company was the DJ for the event.

David had bought Claire a cross necklace and I must say it was such a special moment. We were getting ready to do some jump shots and David decided he was happy and jumped in the air out the blue, a photographer must be ready at all times or a great photograph like this might be missed. Some things were riding up under the wedding dress so a couple of Claire's bridesmaids helped her out, doesnt this just make you laugh?  I chose to go with available light for this photo rather than using a bright flash. I felt it gave it more depth and meaning. Gotta love the pom poms for the wedding exit. I had never seen it done before, but it fit Claire perfectly since she was a Duke Cheerleader. This image is probably my all time favorite exit pictures, look how happy she is. The beginning of the rest of her life as man and wife.
